Geiger & Associates has been selected to plan activation strategy for M & I Bank in conjunction with its sponsorships of Milwaukee’s Summerfest and Discovery World. Geiger developed concepts around M & I’s sponsorships, and the Les Paul tribute was selected.
M&I is inviting musicians and Les Paul enthusiasts nationwide to take part in a video tribute to the music legend. Les Paul fans can either upload their video tribute online or attend one of many videotaping sessions in Milwaukee.
Those interested in participating in the virtual birthday card can either visit the M&I Bank at 414 West National Avenue on Saturday, June 7 from 9 to noon; A Taste of Summer on June 7 from 1-5PM; Summerfest Grounds at the Mid-Gate from 1-3 p.m. on Tuesday, June 10; Club 400 located at 322 Williams Street in Waukesha from 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 10 and finally Jazz in the Park at Cathedral Square Park, Thursday, June 12 from 4-6:30 p.m. A video cameraman will be on hand to tape the tributes.

Already Wisconsin Governor James Doyle, Genesis and Jean Luc Ponty guitarist Daryl Stuermer, who is performing at the M&I Classic Rock Stage during Summerfest, and Waukesha Mayor Larry Nelson have agreed to record their tributes to Les Paul.
The videos will be edited and shown at the lighting of the M&I’s corporate headquarters, 770 North Water, Milwaukee, on June 20. For the past two years, M&I has lit its corporate headquarters in the shape of two electric guitars as a kick off to Summerfest. This year the guitars will be in the shape of the Les Paul-style guitar.
The June 20 event salutes Les Paul’s 93rd birthday, his contributions to music, and the opening of Les Paul’s House of Sound exhibit at Discovery World in Milwaukee on June 21.
